We're going on our third year living in this rental house. While it's not what I had planned, it feels like this is the house we are supposed to be living in right now. But for a future-planning person like myself I have spent many days moping about, frustrated, and hoping for something to change and for this period of waiting and unsettled-ness to be over.

But I have been really inspired by the author and speaker Emily Belle Freeman. She wrote an article about waiting that helped me direct my thoughts in a more positive way. It reminded me that I had watched a clip of her sharing the same 'waiting' experience on youtube a few months ago. It's a powerful reminder of a loving, caring Heavenly Father.

I love the scripture she shared in the article, Deuteronomy 2:7

For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

I'm guilty of often believing the grass will be greener on "the other side." That once I have all of my wants checked off my list, THEN I will be happy. But it's such a comforting reminder in the Bible that the Lord is with you in the wilderness, and in reality, you lack nothing that brings happiness. This scripture talks about the Children of Israel who were "waiting" in the wilderness for forty years. Many times they chose bitterness and sorrow when they could have recognized the Lord was with them in the waiting the entire time. In the end the WERE delivered. If the Lord delivered the Children of Israel, I know He will deliver me too.
