Tender Impressions from the Women's Session

I like to listen to the General Women's Session alone in my room, because it becomes a deeply personal and spiritual experience for me.

This time was no different. I couldn't believe the words that were spoken directly to my soul. It was as if I was having a personal conversation with my Father in Heaven, and all of these other people were listening in.

Through Sister Sharon Eubank, he told me to articulate the answers to these questions:
How do you feel about Jesus Christ?
Why do you stay in the Church?
Why do you believe the Book of Mormon is scripture?
Where do you get your peace?
Why does it matter that the prophet has something to say in 2017?
How do you know he's a real prophet?

Through Sister Neill F. Marriott, he told me that I'm not supposed to share myself with others, I'm supposed to share Christ. I can best help others by being filled with God's love, and then pouring out that precious, perfect love for them to feel.

Through Sister Joy Jones, he told me to stop listening to my own self doubt and negative thoughts. When I give in to those thoughts, there's no room for the love and light my Savior wants to give me. It's my choice to make room.

Through President Uchtdorf, I learned that it does not matter what people in the great and spacious building are saying, they are wrong. I don't need to be mad at others or sad about what people are saying about me, because I can choose to be a DISCIPLE of CHRIST. A disciple of Christ is someone who understands that looking forward with faith and being positive is faith, it is the very essence of what we are asked to do in this life, no matter how difficult.

Those first, tender impressions after listening are so precious. I would love to hear yours as well. With each additional reading or watching we can uncover more of what our Father wants to teach us and I'm excited to learn!
