Big Sky Country

Ben and I went to visit his grandparents in Hamilton, Montana for Thanksgiving. It was a long 9 hour drive but it was fun.

Here we are at that awesome restaurant, Naps:

This is the burger I created. It was soo good!

It was huge! You could barely get your hands around it.

Marcus Daly Mansion. I love old architecture.

View from their backyard... Montana is beautiful

Grandpa D and the Green Hornet!

Snowing at the top of Skalkaho Pass

In front of Skalkhao Falls

Beautiful scenery on the way home

Ben was pretty scruffy by the time we got home

Happy Halloween!

We went on a beautiful walk around Utah Lake on Sunday afternoon.

Fall was in full bloom around the lake

The following pictures were taken with self timers on the Provo trail.

Look at the beautiful yellow color in this one!
Here's the Provo River where we took our Halloween cruise. So pretty!

Pumpkin carving! Here's Ben with our beautiful pumpkin

We used a design we found online- something I've never done before. I traced it on the pumpkin, but it was Ben's steady hand who cut it out. I'd never have enough patience for that!

The finished product. It's the grim reaper, complete with a scented candle. It may be scary but it smells good!

Mom Dilsaver sent us this really cute package for Halloween. Thanks Mom!
Have a happy Halloween!

Happy Birthday Ben!

The old man turned 27 if you were wondering. They don't sell packs of candles that big.

Outback Steakhouse. It's what I get for marrying a dairy farm boy. And he says the prime rib steak still wasn't as good as his mom's.

We went on a date with my cousin Kristen and her husband Kevin. It was a Halloween cruise on the Provo river.

Thanks for inviting us Kristen and Kevin!

The guide recited Sam McGee. It brought back scary memories from my childhood.

Hello blogging world.

This is me applying for student teaching:

And this is what General Conference looks like when you watch it at our apartment.

Dad and "skinny minny" Dillon. Mom was telling him all weekend to gain weight.

For your viewing pleasure.
Video #1: Ben recently bought a heavy duty tripod for work. He tested it out in our apartment.

Video #2: Sa-weet conference set up at our place. Interpreter for Cassidy, and enough "grucka" on the table to make people sick. Thank you Mom and Dad.

3 Months

We've been married 3 months. And I've finally gotten my ring soldered together (although some people [Heather] have been waiting 3 years).

This picture captures the excitement of the engagement only seven months ago:

Proudly displaying the engagement ring on the night of attainment:

And here it is soldered together.

Next month will be our one year mark from our first date.
Next month Ben will turn 27.
Next month Dad will turn 64 (on the same day!), who has been married to my mom for 34 years, who also got married in June, and whose ring I tried to emulate.

Thank you for the example.
Thank you Ben for the happy marriage, and for getting my ring soldered together for free.

P.S.- I got this cool polaroid look from rollip

Do you remember the movie Land Before Time when you were kid? Do you remember Spike? Well, my husband looks just like him. See below:

He gets upset sometimes when I look at him for a long time. He says, "You're just thinking about a dinosaur right now, aren't you?"

What can I say?? This is what he looks like when he wakes up:

At least it's a cute dinosaur!!

Hate to reveal how nerdy my husband is, but here he is making a circuit board in his free time.
(you're just thinking about a dinosaur right now, aren't you?)

New Cards and the Temple

Well it looks like from the poll Ben and I tied as to whose card is better (altho I have suspicion that somebody has access to multiple computers at work to vote for himself). Nevertheless, I continue to make the cards. Hope you like these ones!

Pics from our Manti Temple trip.
